Session: The Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph – an English language resource for non-Quebec families
Blessed with having known three of her grandparents and three of her great-grandparents, Toronto-born Lorie Pierce indirectly gathered family lore her whole life. Upon retirement, Lorie began family history research in earnest through DNA matching and online access to genealogical resources. Using research abilities gained through careers in urban planning, biofeedback therapy, museum education and journalism, Lorie has been able to break down a major brick wall in her family history to discover her family’s true surname. She currently writes a weekly archival column for the Quebec-Chronicle Telegraph newspaper, which has been published in Quebec City since 1764.
