Session: Railway Museums, Heritage Railways, and Railway Historical Societies for Genealogists
Art has ridden trains in Canada, America, South Africa, Kenya, and Australia. He visited at least one railway museum in each country. They have ranged in size from large, the B & O Museum in Baltimore, Maryland, the California State RR Museum in Sacramento, California, and the West Coast Railway Museum in Squamish, B.C. to small and specific like that at the Cass Scenic Railroad in Cass, West Virginia and the Hinton Railroad Museum, with its display of hand-carved figures depicting American Civil War-era railroad workers. Several Ontario examples will be visited virtually in Art’s presentation.
